New album reviews, interviews and videos
In the last few days loads of album reviews, interviews and stuff surfaced on the web. We’re sorry if we’re not posting everything and immediately but Admin n.1 is out of town and I’m sick. But we’re trying!
Welsh titans achieve the impossible.
Somehow Lostprophets have combined oil and water, united Crips and Bluds, found critical and fanatical success.
Weapons is ‘06’s Liberation Transmission’s pop with, ‘04 album, Start Something’s muscle. It will comfortably recapture the crowd ‘Prophets lassoed with Liberation Transmission and hopefully tempt back older fans too. Okay, the pop-to-metal ratio isn’t always 50:50 but this is easily their best and most widely pleasing album since their ’04 release.
Lee Gaze’s interview for Ultimate guitar
we feel we need to come along and really kick it up the ass a bit with the kind of record that is required to do this. But really the new record is the kind of record we’d be expected to put out anyway. I mean our records are always pretty heavy you know.
Welsh rockers Lostprophets have been making a name for themselves for an impressive 12 years. 4 albums, numerous tours, awards, nominations and a hardcore base of fans have earned them an accolade of one of Britain’s best rock bands. 2012 brings a new chapter for the band and album number 5 in the form of ‘Weapons’. Jamie from the band had a chat with me about what they feel is a new start for Lostprophets.

New interviews and review
Mike Lewis talked about his passion, football, to Footballburp.
I started getting into football in the mid-’80s, when my local team Cardiff City were in Division Four. I went to Ninian Park a couple of times but it was pretty grim. Everyone at my school supported either Everton or Liverpool, and Everton had players like Neville Southall, Pat Van Den Hauwe and Kevin Ratcliffe. I was attracted more to them than Ian Rush and Liverpool.
And he also got interviewed by Johnny Abrams for Rocksucker. He talks about the album, the music video and the collaborations.
Pontypridd rockers Lostprophets release their fifth studio album Weapons on 2nd April before embarking on a mammoth tour of the UK and Europe (dates here), so Rocksucker caught up with the band’s affable guitarist Mike Lewis for a hearty chinwag about the record, their proposed collaboration with Labrinth, spending the day with Batman’s boss and how he explains Wales to Americans…
Indulge-sound reviewed Lostprophets’ live that took place last night at Koko, London, here.
And here it is an interview with Ian and Lee aired on TV. Check it out!

Indestructible – Kerrang N.1407 march 2012
So our lovely Tracy has scanned the Kerrang! magazine and typed up all the Interview! Here all the things…
Typed Up: By Tracy
INDESTRUCTIBLE
Ten years after Lostprophets became superstars, their detractors are still waiting for them to all. They’re in for a wait, though. The Welsh veterans’ fifth studio album Weapons is primed to explode. It’s best you stand back…
During September 2010, Lostprophets appeared at a show in Cardiff. No biggie, really, just a turn at the Millennium Stadium as part of a patriotic bill that featured fellow nationals, Dame Shirley Bassey and operatic chanteuse, Katherine Jenkins. Later, during a high profile meet and greet at the aftershow party, the six-piece – frontman and lyricist, Ian Watkins, keyboardist Jamie Oliver, guitarists Lee Gaze and Mike Lewis, bassist Stuart Richardson and drummer Luke Johnson – were presented to old big ears himself, the Prince of Wales.
“It felt like we’d barged our way in”, says Stuart, currently relaxing iun a small anteroom in Mates Studios, North Hollywood with the rest of the band. The release of Lostprophets’ latest studio album, Weapons, is looming; the vibe is upbeat. “But when Charles came over to us he just wanted to talk about tattoos. I couldn’t believe it. He said ‘I’m thinking of getting one myself’.”

Jamie on latest issue of K! And more news!
Tracy has typed for us the last appearance of Jamie in Kerrang (n. 1401). PLus she sends us (always lovely) more interviews from 2006, and these very soon will be soon put online on this site.
WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO BREAK UP WITH SOMEONE?
“Tell them the truth”. It’s not the easiest way but in the end they can go on with their lives without mistrusting the rest of humanity. Plus, you don’t have to keep all those skeletons in your wardrobe messing up your clothes!”
Better Off Dead, I suppose Ian (lostprophets lead singer) did warn us that they intended to make a dark album, and what’s better way to advertise their progress than with a song title as “Better Off Dead”.
I will be the first to admit that I have a frankly immense obsession with Ian Watkins and his voice, however, despite this I genuinely didn’t recognize Ian’s voice in the first verse. But as soon as the second verse kicked in I was able to make that instant connection and fell in love all over again. Lostprophets have a very destinct style of music with a sing along style of lyrics and a strong hard rock instrumental and in most cases this criteria was fulfilled. But I do personally feel that the lyrics could have been better worded as the don’t have the same impact as their classics like “Last Train Home” and “Rooftops”.
I will however end this in a high note as lostprophets are an amazing band with plenty of experience and they’ve worked very hard to produce their fifth album “Weapons” which I can actually see being a favourite album amongst the fans. Forever lostprophets! Dave Watkins Smith

LAST TIME K! SAID:
“From the moment they walk onstage the venue is a bubbling cauldron of love for Lostprophets. Responding in kind, the Welsh sextet play like their lives depend on it, kicking off with the rocking bombast of If It Wasn’t for Hate We’d Be Dead By Now. As hits like Rooftops and Last Train Home. mosh pits breaks out everywhere, feet barely touch the floor and even security guards are throwing horns and hanging heads.”
